Mark Acierno received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Mississippi State University, followed by an internship in small animal medicine and surgery and a residency in internal medicine at Tufts University. He spent 12 years at Louisiana State University, where he developed one of the world’s most advanced veterinary nephrology and renal replacement therapy programs. He subsequently joined Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he served as Professor, department chair and later as Associate Dean. His clinical and research interests include hypertension, kidney disease, urology, and renal replacement therapies.
